300: Rise of an Empire: finally happy again to find my answer.

No doubt that the Hollywood movie makers invest huge and also do a good R&D for movie business. So, they did in this movie.
Though they have shown graphics and actions scenes very beautifully, that deserves applauds, it didn't seem to be at the equal footing to its previous part.
Also, what I want to share is that we always think that Indian movies only have crap stunts and scenes. Then, we think whether Hollywood movies also have such craps. So, we can find answer in this movie.
I must emphasise that there is a scene in the climax, in which the hero of the movie Themistockles (role played by Sullevan Stepleton) shows his extra ordinary capacity to take his horse though the broken ships to the ship of the enemy without caring about the ocean in between. Guess, what he finds. He is able to take the horse successfully (no sensible person will find any logic behind such stunt). He might have been insipred by the performance of Chetak (legendary horse of Maharana Pratap).
Concluding my review,I would suggest that if you want to go for action scenes and bloodbath, you should go for it.

Highway: awards will go to the NHAI.

Last week, I expected that Imtiaz Ali will add a new gem to the rare collection of good Hindi movies. But what I observed is that he was unable to create it. Yes, I am talking about Highway, that was released last Friday.
This movie has neither a conclusion nor a happy ending. All it has is the scenes around highways and destinations. If you are planning to book tickets for it, think twice (you can save it for Ragini MMS 2 :P).
The positive point about the movie is that Aaliya Bhatt has proved her talent in this movie. No doubt, Randeep Huda is always good in his roles. But where is the story? Even if both Randeep and Aaliya do justice with their roles, its like swimming in a water-less pond, as the movie lacks a good story.
Watching this movie, I concluded that the lead role was performed by the highway itself. Hence, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) should be give award for the best leading role.

Darr @ the Mall: Fails to evoke fear in minds.

It seems that after 2008, the Indian cinema industry has failed to take a cue from the much appreciated horror movies like 1920 and 13B. No other movie could deliver the same package of thrill, adventure and fear as it did. Even there was much expectation from the recent horror flicks 1920 Evil Returns and Ek Thi Daayan.
There was an expectation that Bollywood will learn something from these failures and the movie released this Friday, Darr @ The Mall will be a ray of hope. But this also seems to have shattered our hopes.
While I rushed to the cinema hall nearby to grab some thrill and horror, my attempts and expectations seem to have gone futile like other movie buffs. There seem to be some weak links that mar the fear factor in the movie.
For example, the scene wherein the small girl (that was a ghost) revealed the secret behind the fear in the mall. Movie lacks a good climax and background score (unless the background music is like that we enjoyed in first half of Ek Thi Daayan, or 1920 the movie is crap in the name of horror flick). As far as the scenes are concerned, the fear factor should be like that of 1920, which is benchmark in the Indian horror movies.
At last, the suspense was not properly revealed in the movie(for which I consider 13B as the benchmark). Initial scenes of the movie were quite promising of the quality of the entire movie, but later it fails due to weak presentation.
In a nutshell, the future horror movie producers should take a cue from 1920, 13B and Ek Thi Daayan before branding them a true horror.

Bullet Raja: Disappointment from Mr. Dhulia

I missed first 10 minutes of the movie but I don't regret it. Its because, I just can't believe that this movie was directed from the director of great movies like Haasil, Pan Singh Tomar and Saaheb Biwi aur Gangster. This movie seems to be a disappointment and just a masaala movie to a great extent.
However, in an interview, Mr. Dhulia himself said that he selected Saif Ali Khan because he wanted to generate revenue for his movie. But he would compromise with the quality of his movie and goodwill to such an extent, this was beyond my imagination. There were some questions that remained unanswered:
  1. What was the need to introduce the martial arts expert Vidyut Jamwal as a crucial player in the whole game?
  2. What was the need to kill Jimmy Shergil  for inciting Saif Ali Khan?
  3. Was there any need to show a twist like encounter of Raja Mishra?
  4. Could this movie be reformed as a good directional project?
  5. Could this movie do well even in absence of the star casts like Vidyut, Gulshan Grover and Sonakshi Sinha?
  6. Was there the need of dialogues like "jab aayenge toh garmi badhegi"?
I rate this movie 2.5 out of 5. Nothing much it deserves. Believe me.

Krrish 3: non-sense cheating of Hollywood.

The face behind the bollywood super hero Krrish, i.e., Hritik was in news for last 2 years for his body building process for carving out the shape of his body. This Diwali, it was the opportunity for this hero to show his hard-work. The question remains whether the huge investment by Roshans is worth appreciation.

Some of the movie-buffs have criticised the movie on the count of:
  1. Cheesily sentimental and overly explanatory dialog that insults the viewer's sensibility and intelligence.
  2. Characters copied from American comics and movies like Avengers. Examples are the character of Kaaya played by Kangna Ranaut and the character shown to have a long tongue, which are allegedly copy of the characters from 'X-Men' series.
  3. The name "Maanvar" given to the characters created by Kaal (Vivek Oberoi) was worth laughter.
  4. Excessive indigestible technology and stunts.
  5. The song "God Allah aur Bhagwaan" has been criticised as a crap in the movie.

However, people have loved the new dimension given to the Bollywood. The only things that marred the attraction were the highly charged emotional content and immature copying of the Hollywood characters.
